It’s been a while since I picked up the ole pen to write a blog post, however I have to thank Jimmy John’s customer service for helping break my writers block.
My family and I were moving all day and decided to stop to grab a bite to eat. My fiance decided to drive straight to the closest Jimmy John’s to fill our tummy’s.
To our surprise when we walked into the location, the young man behind the counter said, “We only have 1 loaf of bread left, we ran out of food this morning!” and our mouth’s hit the floor!
As we left the store, my fiance said something that caught me off guard, because I thought I was the only one thinking it … she said “wow they aren’t going to make any money today” … that was her 1st thought … not that she was still hungry, but that Jimmy John’s wasn’t going to make money …
I decided to tweet about it and got a shock I wasn’t expecting on a Saturday afternoon at 4 pm … an answer!
Jimmy John’s is using social media to their maximum potential! They are actually listening to social media, providing customer service and paying attention!
Not only did they turn a weird situation into a positive, they are now going to get some free PR from me. “BTW, I wrote this blog post before I found out how they want to make it right, so this is just my honest opinion”.
More companies should understand the different ways they can use Social Media, like customer service, to their advantage and not just use it for advertising.
Have you had anything like this happen to you? We would love to hear your story!
Thank’s again Jimmy John’s for breaking my writers block. Expect to see me writing more in the near future!
